Definition: “The apparent change in the position of an object resulting from the change in the direction or position from which it is viewed.”
For us, Parallax means two: Two camera angles, two people capturing your footage, a seller and buyer of a property, a camera operator and the subject and the relationship between our customers and us.
About us
Background
Quality is everything. We can’t even watch tv without picking apart every shot, analysing it and either stealing great ideas for future inspiration or talking about how we would have shot it differently. We live and breathe filming and production and because of this, we produce high quality, strategically thought-out real estate and commercial videos.
We take a dual approach to what we create: marketing and artistic and we believe because of this approach, we provide our customers with a product which stands out from everyone else.

WAYNE COOK
Director of Photography & Film l Aerial Operations
Wayne started his professional imagery career in 2008 as a wedding and motorsport photographer. Three years later, he had developed an appetite for more, so Wayne learned how to film and produce video and started his previous company; COBi Digital Productions specialising in aerial filming New Zealand wide.
Since then, Wayne has filmed for the BBC, Warner Bros, TVNZ, Tourism New Zealand, Government organisations, small & large corporate businesses, real estate agencies and schools.
Wayne is creative in all senses of the word; a highly skilled director, filmmaker and storyteller. He loves meeting new people, creating amazing imagery and sharing the videos he creates with his clients….and good coffee!

LIZ PITCORN
Production Manager l Photography l 3D Tours
Liz has a passion for imagery and nurtured this passion from early on, working in a camera and photo store in her early twenties. She loved it so much, she bought her first camera and became a wedding and corporate photographer and then started her own marketing company in Christchurch which now specialises in imagery.
In 2016 Liz joined Parallax Films and is now our production manager and one of our photographers’, but you will also find her behind a video camera on our larger productions, managing live streams and capturing all of our 3D virtual tours.
Liz brings a strategic marketing perspective to our imagery and productions which clients find incredibly helpful during pre production.

BILLIE LAWSON
Photographer
Billie moved to Christchurch in 2024 from Auckland and coming from a family of photographers, she was destined to pick up a camera! Billie's Mother also spent many years as a successful real estate agent, so she has as special insight into the property industry.
Billie specialises in property and event photography and editing. You will find Billie capturing images on her own houses or alongside our team at events.
She enjoys meeting new people and capture them (or their properties) and in her spare time, you will find Billie at the dance studio.

DAKOTA PERRY
Editor l Creative Director
With more than ten years of professional production experience, primarily in high-end production with Government organisations, Defense Force, Construction, Real Estate and Architecture, Dakota is an accomplished filmmaker, director and editor.
Based in Queensland, Australia, Dakota is no stranger to premium production and brings this extensive experience to our videos.
With Dakota’s wealth of experience in Australia, he helps us to create stunning, story-telling films in New Zealand.

LUCY HARVEY
Administration l Social Media Marketing
Originally from the UK, Lucy moved to New Zealand in 2013 and is based in North Canterbury with her husband and two children.
She has a background in marketing and social media; skills which she brings to the Parallax team. Lucy looks after our administration for real estate imagery and our social media part time.
Lucy also has her own business as a self-employed Photographer specialising in Lifestyle, Family and Newborn imagery, so although she handles our admin, she speaks our lingo!
